The Jovenes, Inc. Learning to Live Campus is located on the corner of Pleasant Ave. and Progress Place in Boyle Heights. It is a place where youth who are experiencing homelessness can obtain shelter, support, and create a stable foundation for the rest of their lives. It also features the Technology, Learning, and Employment Center which features a computer lab and services that are open to the community.
In addition to Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing, the campus will become home to our very first permanent supportive housing project. Construction began in July 2011, and we will begin moving youth into their new apartments in February 2012. This housing is dedicated for youth with a mental disability, and once housed, they will manage an affordable rent while they gain employment, attend school, and move forward with their lives with the assistance of the variety of services Jovenes, Inc. provides. Once this project is completed, Jovenes’ Continuum of Care will have a total of 34 beds. To schedule a tour, please contact development@jovenesinc.org
