Coordinated Entry System for Youth
Jovenes has been designated the lead agency for the new Youth Coordinated Entry System in Service Planning Area 7, which covers communities from East LA to Hawaiian Gardens and from La Habra Heights to Huntington Park. Through a community planning process, it was determined that there was not an agency within this community that possessed the same level of expertise and capacity as Jovenes, so it was collectively determined that Jovenes should lead this effort. CES seeks to assess homeless individuals and youth for permanent housing opportunities and connect them with the different service providers who can meet their needs. Jovenes will convene the various housing providers in the community, implement a new referral system, and conduct outreach to youth and other organizations, such as churches, in order to connect more youth with the housing support they need. We will collaborate closely with other partners, such as PATH (who is coordinating the adult CES), in order to ensure effective coverage throughout the community and to advocate for increased investments in homeless youth.
